Marc Jacobs celebrated the opening of his latest London boutique with a runway show at Claridges Hotel and an illustrious party at The Connaught where the entire ground floor housed a dance floor, restaurant, and four bars. The Marc by Marc Jacobs show included male and female models, dressed in his latest designs of carpet bags, chunky tartan short coats, herring bone pants, cardigans with deep pockets and scarves, according to Fashion Wire Daily.
Jacobs' desire is to design beautiful clothes. His designs for 2007 mimic fashions from the early 60s and 70s, tailored clothes with sharp collars, knee length or ankle length pleated skirts, and slim belts worn over unadorned cashmere sweaters. He pairs white and grey with neutral colors, topping off the ensemble with a silver metallic hat and handbags made of crocodile skin.
Marc Jacobs Boutiques will be expanding to Beirut, Moscow, and Dubai, increasing his numbers to 60 boutiques.
